The films were created to to act as additional learning aids for the Anti-racism Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The course aims to develop participants knowledge, understanding and practices around anti-racism.
Amnesty International UK were seeking a supplier not only to meet the deadline, but to translate difficult highly-politicised subject matter into sensitive imagery using inclusive communication principles, and a unique creative style.
We used a combination of illustration and cut-out design and animation to tell these stories. We were mindful to avoid illustrations of enslaved characters in depraved or undignified scenarios, in favour of more abstract representations.
